The 2011 SunGard Higher Education Middle East User Group (SMEUG) conference will be held on December 12-14 at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai, UAE. SMEUG is the premier Middle East higher education user conference, offering SunGard Higher Education clients, prospective clients, industry thought leaders, and partners a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and explore the latest developments in administration, learning, collaboration, and achieving an Open Digital Campus.

Last year, more than 400 SunGard Higher Education clients, senior Government/Ministry representatives, prospective clients, and partners attended SMEUG.  The event focused on "Student Success: The New Knowledge Economy” and resulted in a unique opportunity for our attendees to network with colleagues, share experiences, gain valuable knowledge, and discuss the development of higher education solutions. This year’s theme "Building a World of Opportunity" promises to showcase the outstanding achievements being made in the region and provide inspiration and guidance to help institutions achieve their strategic goals.

Keynotes from higher education thought leaders will complement the many customer presentations, which include contributions from both new institutions and established users of our solutions in the Middle East. In addition, the conference will provide a variety of networking venues and opportunities for interaction with consultants, technical staff and product specialists from SunGard Higher Education and our partners. As in previous years, guest speakers from other regions are expected to present their experiences at this conference.

Participants from the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the United States will address emerging trends and issues in higher education and showcase achievements made working with SunGard Higher Education solutions. SunGard Higher Education senior staff will facilitate demonstrations and discussions on planned product updates and development directions.

The conference will also offer demonstrations and discussions focusing on solutions from our conference sponsors.
